Eucalyptus camaldulensis - Common name Red River Gum Under most conditions it is a thick-trunked, widely spreading, large tree with mulitcoloured bark, usually grey, off-white and brown, and mainly smooth.
Leaves are dull grey-green, sometimes bluish, lanceolate to narrow-lanceolate and alternative.
Fluffy white flowers are borne through summer which are bird attracting.
Occurs throughout Australia in all mainland states, common along watercourses. Grown extensively in large gardens and parks. Mature trees provide nesting sites for native bird species. Best grown in an open sunny position in well drained soil, can tolerate wet soils, extended periods of drought, and poor salt affected soils. Grows 30m high x 35m wide
