Eucayptus cladocalyx nana, known as the Dwarf Bushy Sugar Gum, is a member of the Myrtaceae family. Its bark is grey/blue mottled and smooth, which is shed in late Summer and Autumn. Foliage is a shiny dark green lanceolate shape, with prominent veining. Buds are in thick clusters forming white flowers late summer, followed by barrel shaped gum nuts.
Eucalyptus cladocalyx is a native of South Australia and Western Australia, most prominent on Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. It is a small native suitable for suburban gardens and parks, preferring a sunny position with well drained soil.
Eucalyptus cladocalyx nana is drought tolerant and very hardy. Can reach a height of up to 10 metres and 5 metres in width, and forms a nice round shape.
